About me
As a product of Dallas ISD and Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center graduate, Candice Jackson has continued serving Dallas ISD students as the Assistant Principal of Lassiter Early College for the past 10 years. Additionally, she is a first-generation college graduate and shares a profound understanding of the transformative power of education in shaping an individual’s future. This personal experience inspired a career in education spanning over 20 years, in which she has positively impacted the lives of thousands of students.
Candice earned a master’s degree in educational administration with a mid-management certification from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Government, Pre-Law, with a Minor in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. Throughout her educational career, Candice served as a Vocational/Education Specialist with MHMR in Denton, owned a private tutoring company, and began her teaching career as a classroom educator in Humble, TX, within the Houston metropolitan area, where she served the students of Humble ISD.
Outside of school, Candice is a mother of two daughters, both high school graduates of Lassiter ECHS. Her eldest daughter graduated in 2020, and her youngest daughter will graduate in 2025. Helping at-risk youth forge a positive path and creating a non-profit to offer exclusive enrichment learning experiences to underprivileged youth in Houston drives her passion daily. “We have no idea what at-risk students endure at home, but I do know how to create a safe space for them and offer opportunities that will help to build their self-esteem leading them to want to achieve more to grow themselves outside of their current situation.” Candice firmly believes that students don’t know what they can’t do until they are told they can’t do it. Establishing this mindset with her children and the students she serves has helped reshape the future of the many students she has worked with over the years.
